Cathy Matthes

Cathy has extensive experience in the healthcare and financial sectors amassing over 30 years’ experience across a range of leadership, business development and operational roles in both large and start-up life science companies.  During this time, Cathy developed a niche in serving the vascular medical device industry.  Prior to joining InterVene, Cathy worked for eight years as CFO for Veniti, Inc., a venous stent company, for which she managed operations and drove fundraising, strategic planning and eventually the sale of the company to Boston Scientific in 2018. Subsequent to Veniti, she also served as CFO for Vetex Medical, a venous thrombectomy company recently acquired by Surmodics Inc. Additionally, in her role as Founder at MedFINiti, which she formed in 2018 to focus on providing contracted financial, operational, transactional, and strategic services to entrepreneurial businesses, she advised several other vascular companies.

Most recently Cathy joined four other partners in forming Cultivation Capital Life Sciences Fund IV, a venture fund focusing on investing in early-stage cardiovascular, vascular & peripheral vascular medical device companies.

During her tenure in public accounting early in her career, after graduating with a BSBA from the University of Missouri, Cathy also gained her Certified Public Accountant designation.  She is also a proud recipient of the 2006 Most Influential Business Woman and 2015 CFO of the Year awards.

When not serving in her professional roles, Cathy enjoys traveling the world and skiing, biking, and hiking the beautiful mountains near her home in Montana.
